“Yeah, well.” He sighed a bit, taking a gulp, and sat back, tipping his head back a moment to look up at the ceiling. “I missed Kar. Just this. Simple things like this.”
He was just a touch surprised to hear her say something so open before he did; for a moment he thought he was dreaming, and this was just where he wanted to be instead of on some dark cruiser with bad company. But no… He smiled, wrly, scratching at his neck one-handed, giving her a look. “At least yeh stand somewhere,” he commented. “I’m nearly 40, not exactly prime. Wanna know how long it’s been since I’ve gotten laid? Even had a date? No yeh don’t. Yeh’d have a heart attack, an’ yer kind of too important to kick the bucket outta shock.” He shook his head, taking another gulp.
“But nevermind that. Advice? Keep chasin’, sheila. If he’s worth it, he’ll come around. Otherwise, well, it’s not like it’ll be hard fer a gorgeous dangerous woman like you t’find someone who is.”
She smiled slightly at the mention of just being with her. She valued his companionship greatly, and cared for him. She loved him. Loved him in the same sense she loved Mereel, it was very good friends to the point of intimacy.
"I’m shocked too, given our history. Shot at each other the moment we met." She chuckled into her drink, drinking deep. "Call me an optimist, but you’ll find that someone. Man, woman, quarian, whatever. Trust me on that. And worse case, I can tell you a good varren breeder…"
She hoped that didn’t come off too insulting, but know Siddy, he’d take the barracking. She was trying her best to censor herself, after far too many faux past with the aruetii. She wasn’t going to point out her potential bondmate was older than even him, it didn’t matter. “I’ll try just a little longer. And keep my hopes up for you too.”
